Elephants can generate upwards of 250 - 350 pounds of dung each day and the Poo Poo Paper company has developed an ecologically responsible method to re-purpose actual waste into functional paper products. They collect the dung, wash and clean it, hand-craft it into large sheets of paper, then cut their products from it. Not only are they supporting elephant welfare-related causes, they employ dozens of local artisans (many whom are ethnic minorities) that craft the finished product.

Over several years, Poo Poo Paper honed their method to make alternative-fiber paper from elephant dung in the most ecologically responsible way. After collecting the dung, they wash and clean it to create a fiber-filled pulp, craft it into large sheets of paper (by hand), and cut their products from it. Even 95% of their products are made with natural soy-inks and non-toxic and edible food coloring. A percentage of all Poo Poo Paper's product costs, plus 5% of their end-of-the-year profits, are donated to elephant conservation parks and other elephant welfare-related causes.
