Perfect fit, flexible, great color, deep pockets, excellent.
There's much to love about this pair of jeans. What I liked most about it is the length of the pants. Because jean sizes for men are limited to one size every two inches, I've been stuck wearing size 32 inseams my entire life, but they're almost always too short. About 75% of the jeans I buy are just too short for me, especially after the first wash which usually shrinks them.
I'm basically a 33 inch inseam, or more like 32.75. So when I find a pair of jeans that's slightly longer than most at the same size, I love it. This Prana Axiom is one such jean. I would say it's about 3/4 inches longer than most jeans. Perfect for me! I love it!
Not only that, but it's super flexible. I grew up learning martial arts, and I find I can kick high in these jeans without the slightest resistance like I get with most jeans. It has a special seam around the crotch which nobody will notice, and that makes it easier to extend your legs.
It also has some stretch in the material itself. It looks and feels the same as regular denim, but when you put your hands in your pockets, you can see it stretch. It's not like it compresses around your leg or anything. The fit isn't tight or compressed. It's not baggy, either, at least on me. It just feels a little loose.
As for the waist size, I feel like it's pretty much exactly what it said it was. I buy 30 inch waist jeans, and this felt like 30 inches. So it was just the length that's slightly longer than the average jean of the same length size.
Another thing I liked about this was the color and the weave pattern. The color ("antique stone wash") is a darker blue than medium blue. Somewhere in between indigo and medium. It's the perfect color jean for most people these days. Medium blue would look too light.
And the weave pattern (if that's what it's called) is vertical. It looks great, like a modern pair of jeans should look.
The front pockets were also much deeper than other jeans I've worn. I think that's because of the prevalence of giant cell phones / phablets. I have a Nexus 6P, which is a large, 5.7" screen cell phone. In other words, pretty much a phablet. And it fits in my front pocket just fine. You do see its outline, but the jeans will stretch. I can sit down, drive my car, etc. with the phone in my pocket. Not a problem. But other jeans I've worn, that just wasn't possible.
As a vegan, I also appreciate that there's no leather on it anywhere. The faux-leather logo patches are a nice touch. I always worry about that sort of thing on jeans, and not many of them out there indicate what the material is for those logo patches.
Now to wait for a sale and buy these in bulk so I don't have to worry about buying jeans again for a long time!
Proso Slightly longer inseam than average. Perfect for me.
o Loose feeling, without being baggy.
o Great dark blue color (antique stone wash)
o Nice looking weave pattern (vertical)
o Deep front pockets, can wear my phablet and still sit down.
o Great flexibility in the crotch, perfect for athletic activity.
o Slightly elastic, makes it more comfortable.
o Non-leather logo patch.
Conso Might feel a little too loose / baggy in the ankles.
o Will be too long if you normally find most jeans are too long for you, but maybe you can just roll them up slightly.
