Founded in Boulder, Colorado by climbing legend Christian Griffith, Verve clothing is made with performance as a first priority. The Verve line of climbing pants are focused in purpose, direct in design and detail. In addition to fantastic products, we like Verve because they're fun and true to themselves. It's a good sign that at their office dogs dominate other employees by a two to one ratio.
Yojimbo means "bodyguard" and comes from the title of a 1961 period drama film by Akira Kurosawa. It tells the story of a ronin (masterless samurai), portrayed by Toshiro Mifune, who arrives in a small town where competing crime lords make their money from gambling. The ronin, who calls himself Sanjuro (meaning "thirty-year-old") convinces each crime lord to hire him as protection from the other. By careful political maneuvering and the use of his sword, he brings peace, but only by encouraging both sides to wipe each other out in bloody battles.
